During his time at GHS he will review your transcript and give you an early indication of your admission options and tentative merit-based scholarship eligibility at the University of Maine. This is a great opportunity, so don't miss it!

NACAC Boston National College Fair: The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) invites students and parents to explore the college search process at the NACAC National College Fair in Boston held on Monday, April 27 5:30 PM-8:30 PM and Tuesday, April 28 8:30 AM-12:30 PM. This year, the fair will be held in a new location: Hynes Convention Center. Highlights of this year’s fair include STEM and VPA focused areas, workshops covering topics such as college essays and financial aid, and access to the College Advising and Financial Aid Center. Key Club will be hosting a Seniors vs. Faculty Basketball Game on Monday, March 16th, at 6pm in the GHS gym. Tickets will sold for $5 each at the door and all proceeds will benefit Camp Sunshine, a local nonprofit that supports children facing life-threatening illnesses and their families. Please consider attending to see a thrilling game and to support an incredibly important cause!

Art Triumph: Claudette Wesse Takes 1st Place
GHS senior Claudette Wesse has won 1st Place in the 2026 Congressional Art Competition! Her award-winning piece, "Blissful Innocence," will hang in the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. for the next 11 months. On Saturday, March 7, Lucas Lane participated in the National History Day in Maine Southern Regional Contest at the University of Southern Maine in Portland. Lucas was selected as a finalist for his paper entitled "Fed Up: The Reform that Created the Federal Reserve and Revolutionized the American Financial System" in the Senior Paper category. Lucas will be advancing to the state contest, which will be held on May 2 at the University of Maine. Congratulations, Lucas!

The Falmouth/Gorham robotics team The Northern Force will be competing against teams from all over New England this weekend as the NE FIRST Pine Tree District Event returns to Falmouth High School this weekend, March 7–8! As Maine’s premier FIRST Robotics Competition qualifying event, this two-day showdown brings together 21 of the most talented teams from across New England to go head-to-head in a display of technical skill and strategy. You can watch the opening ceremonies at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, witness intense qualification matches throughout the day, and return on Sunday to see which alliances will emerge victorious during the high-stakes playoff rounds. Whether you’re a lifelong robotics fan or just looking for a family-friendly event that celebrates innovation and "gracious professionalism," come cheer on these incredible student-built machines and the brilliant minds behind them. Admission is free and open to the public, with concessions available.
Announcing the Muslim Student Association Fast-a-Thon
For any students who are interested in learning more about Central Maine Community College, Abigail Nielsen, Admissions Representative, will be in the GHS conference room on Tuesday, March 10th from 11 am to 12 pm to meet with any interested students! This is a great opportunity to learn more about their programs, and also to hear about all that they have to offer! For any student who would like to join this meeting, please stop by the Guidance Office ahead of time to let someone know.
JUNIORS; please see the information below regarding the University of Maine Consider Engineering Summer Program! The Chip Moody Consider Engineering Program is a challenging and rewarding four-day overnight summer program for high school juniors to get a taste of college life and what it takes to be an engineer! Be one of 132 students who will be competitively selected to attend the program from Maine and around the U.S. who will be invited to spend four days at the University of Maine participating in exciting engineering experiments, problem solving challenges, and great networking with faculty, practicing engineers and fellow campers—at no cost to you. This program is offered three times in July to groups of 36 students who have completed their junior year of study, excel in math and science, and demonstrate communication and leadership skills. This free-of-charge educational and inspiring program is competitive, with only half the applicants gaining admission. On campus food and lodging is provided. The Application Deadline for current high school juniors is April 15th. For any juniors who are interested in learning more about Dartmouth College, on Thursday, April 2, from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. ET, Dartmouth Admissions Officers will be hosting their first-ever "Jumpstart Your College Application" event specifically for juniors; they invite you to attend this live virtual workshop! Dartmouth Admissions Officers are hosting this live virtual workshop to introduce students to the college application and holistic admissions processes at highly selective schools. They want to encourage students to kick-off their college search with confidence and purpose. During the workshop, they will address common misconceptions about the admissions process and introduce Dartmouth’s fly-in programs. They're extending this invitation to as many promising first-generation students as possible! The outdoor track and field team's pre-season sign-up meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 10 at 2:15. The girls' team will meet in Ms. Gheradi's room, and the boys' team will meet in Mr. Landry's room. Anyone interested in joining the outdoor track and field team is welcome to attend.
