An "Eat and Learn Event" at Gorham High School on March 10th at 5:30. Titled "A Focus on Empathy," the event is designed to explore how empathy can transform educational environments. Parents, students, and educators are invited to come together to delve into the powerful role empathy plays in creating more positive, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere.


Gorham's Got Talent auditions are Thursday, March 6th. See the flyer for the QR code to sign up.


For any students interested in learning more about the U.S. Army, SFC Richard Bowen from the Scarborough Army Recruiting Office will be in front of the cafeteria during all three lunches to speak with any interested students on Friday, March 7th. Please feel free to stop by and ask him any questions that you might have!

Maine Needs Donation Drive - An Advisory Competition hosted by the Interact Club! See the attachment for more details.


For any juniors interested in a FREE summer engineering program, keep reading! The UMaine Chip Moody Consider Engineering Program is a challenging and rewarding four-day overnight summer program for high school juniors to get a taste of college life and what it takes to be an engineer! Be one of 108 students from Maine and around the U.S. invited to spend four days at the University of Maine participating in exciting engineering experiments, problem solving challenges, and great networking with faculty, practicing engineers and fellow campers—at no cost to you. This program is offered three times in July to groups of 36 students who have completed their junior year of study, excel in math and science, and demonstrate communication and leadership skills. This free-of-charge educational and inspiring program is competitive, with only half the applicants gaining admission. On campus food and lodging is provided. The Application Deadline for current high school juniors is April 15th. Admission decisions will be announced on or before May 31st via the email address provided in the application. 2025 Program Dates: July 13-16, July 20-23 or July 27-30 (students can rank their preferences in the application) If you have questions, please reach out to - info@umaineppf.org; please note that Teachers and School Counselors may submit transcripts and letters of recommendations directly through this email address as well.

Advisory Competition!!
The week of March 3-6th, Interact Club is hosting a Maine Needs Donation Drive Advisory Competition. Starting on Monday the 10th, bring hygiene products and cleaning supplies (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrushes, lotion, deodorant, all purpose cleaner, toilet paper, toilet cleaner, dish soap, sponges) into your advisory and continue throughout the week. During advisory on Thursday the 13th, the donations will be collected and counted. Top three advisories with the most donations will win a box of doughnuts for the next advisory period.


For any students interested in learning more about the Maine Army National Guard, the local recruiter for our area, Sgt. Davion Jackson, will be in front of the cafeteria during the lunches on Tuesday, February 11th. Feel free to stop by and ask any questions that you might have for him!


Some great news coming out of the Library this week. Our fabulous Blind Date with a Book display is up and running! For the entire month of February, choose a book from our Blind Date display and go on a date with a book you might not normally read! Visit the Blind Date display by Mrs. Tibbetts' office, and look at the clues that tell you what the book is about, check it out, and then open it up for a surprise! Once you have read the book, fill out the rating sheet, and drop it in the bin at the circulation desk to be entered in to a drawing for some great prizes! You can go on as many dates as you want, and winners will be drawn March 3rd! See Mrs. Tibbetts if you have any questions!

GHS Key Club will be having it's next meeting on Tuesday the 11th after school in Mrs. Whipkey's room, C-211.


Rainbow league will have our next meeting after school on Monday February 10 in the Music Room! You can reach out to Mr. Hawkins with any questions. All are welcome!

For any students interested in meeting in a small setting with our local Air Force Recruiter, TSgt. Darlena Vazquez, she will be set-up in the Guidance Conference Room on Thursday, February 13th during the lunches - if there are students interested in meeting with her, please let someone in Guidance know by Monday, February 10th. There is a chance that lunch might be provided to those that plan to meet with her!


SPANISH CLUB will be meeting on Monday, January 10th before school, in Room C-200. Enjoy a snack and chat in Spanish!
